The 2nd Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on Provincial Adaptation Plans and Establishment of Provincial Climate Change Institutional Set Up for Western Province was held on the 18th June 2019 at the Auditorium of the Provincial Ministry of Local Government, Battaramulla. The workshop was organized by the Climate Change Secretariat of the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment, the Office of the Chief Secretary of Western Province and Sri Lanka Press Institute. The workshop was structured with the objective of receiving the inputs of the provincial authorities to prepare the Provincial Adaptation Plan for Western Province and to establish the Provincial Climate Institutional Set-Up inclusive of climate unit and climate cell. Around 70 Executive level officials of provincial ministries, departments, authorities, District Secretariats, local government bodies and municipal councils of Western Province participated at this workshop. The participants demonstrated a keen interest in the content of the workshop and provided their valuable insights to make this workshop a success.
