The Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) has organized a half-a-day workshop for journalists on understanding the application of technology in today’s journalism. On Tuesday, 17th of May 2016, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the SLPI premises.

The trainer Dr. Denae D’Arcy is in Sri Lanka on a Fulbright Scholar Grant sponsored by the United States State Department. She has a PhD in Communication and Information Science and teaches journalism at the University level. D’Arcy worked as a television and online news reporter for 11 years winning Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists awards.

The workshop will cover the following areas;

 The importance of the image
 Pros and cons of advancing technology
 Using a smart phone for online news
 iMovie tutorial
 Suggestions for easy-to-edit video
 Online photojournalism QUICK TIPS
 Captions for online photos
