Photojournalists trained in “Visualizing Reconciliation”

The Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) in partnership with Media in Corporation and Transition (MiCT) of Germany, conducted a 3 day workshop to the photojournalists on “Visualizing Reconciliation” from the 15th to the 17th of December at Hotel Mirage, Colombo. The objective of the workshop was to bring about positive perspectives in photos, which promote peace and reconciliation. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Felix Koltermann (8th from Right, standing), research assistant and lecturer at the Institute for Media, Theatre and Popular Culture at the University of Hildesheim, Germany and Mr. Charlie M Saceda (7th from Right, standing), Chief Operating Officer of emMcomm, Philippines. The 3 days workshop was attended by 30 photojournalists from the Sinhala, Tamil and English print media comprising both Colombo and the provincial journalists.
